What is Cosmetic Dental Bonding?
Cosmetic Dental Bonding is a noninvasive way to improve the appearance of teeth affected by imperfections such as fix minor chips, gaps, and discoloration. We use a tooth color matched resin that is light activated. The resin is then shaped to look as esthetic as possible and then polished to match the surrounding teeth. Cosmetic bonding usually requires no anesthesia as we are only adding material to the tooth.
How long does the bonding procedure take?
The procedure is performed the same day. The total treatment time is dependent on how many teeth we will be adding bonding to, but it is a very fast procedure! There is no anesthesia required to performed cosmetic dental bonding. Dr. Stapleton is highly trained in cosmetic dentistry and performs cosmetic bonding daily in our office!
Will bonding damage my teeth?
Dental bonding is usually performed without removing any tooth structure! This means the process is reversible by removing the dental bonding. The dental bonding result is not as highly esthetic as porcelain veneers, but they are less invasive.
